Explained: Cloning and its Procedure?

    What is Cloning?

A clone means ‘COPY’. It is defined as a child of a single genetic parent either naturally or artificially. Cloning can be performed by a technique called Somatic Cell Nuclear Transfer.

    Cloning Procedure

Step 1: Take one egg cell from an egg donor.

Step 2: Remove the Egg nucleus.

Step 3: Transfer the somatic cell nucleus into the egg cell. The resulting cell is called cloned Zygote.

Step 4: Transfer the cloned zygote into the womb of a women.

The child so born is the clone of that person whose somatic cell nucleus is taken.
